Eyebrow Lift
Eyebrow lift and forehead lift
Normally, there are transverse lines on the forehead that vary in depth from person to person. These lines become vertical between the eyebrows. The forehead skin as well as the facial skin, loosen and droop and existing lines deepen with the progression of age. The eyebrows fall down, sag and a tired-looking expression appears in the person’s face. Poor nutrition, smoking, irregular lifestyle, stress, air pollution, inadequate or no skin care, gravity effect and mimics facilitate this aesthetically uncomfortable result.
Who is the ideal candidate for eyebrow lift?
Eyebrow lifting is usually applied to male and female patients over 40 years of age who have no other health problems. Forehead stretching reduces the lines on the forehead. The eyebrows sagging towards the eye are raised and brought to where they should be and the person is provided a vivid look. If there is excessive sagging and the skin removal is required, then the classic forehead stretching method is applied.
Why do eyebrows sag?
With the effects of aging over time, loosening in tissues and muscles that cannot resist gravity occur. The loss of tightness of tissues and muscles reduces tension in the eyebrow region, causing sags.
Factors such as unhealthy diet, smoking, irregular lifestyle and stress also increase this negative effect of aging and gravity.
Eyebrow lift aesthetics method
Endoscopic eyebrow lift
Forehead stretching and eyebrow lifting have recently been performed by endoscopic method. In patients who excess tissue removal is not needed, the procedure can be performed with 3 or 4 pieces of 2 cm incision in the scalp, in hairy region behind the hair line.
In this method, it is more comfortable after the procedure and there is no loss of sensation in the scalp.
The procedure is performed under the supervision of the anesthesiologist under hospital conditions. Local anesthesia or intravenous sedation methods can be applied as well as general anesthesia. It takes about 1.5-2 hours. It is possible to go home on the same day. It can be combined simultaneously with other aesthetic procedures if necessary.
Before eyebrow lift
Before lifting eyebrows, your doctor should examine your forehead and upper eyelid area and observe the shapes of your muscles as you make various facial expressions. After all these examinations, treatment method is decided by considering the factors such as whether your eyebrows are low or not, where your hair line is on the forehead.
Anesthesia method
Genel anestezi ile yapılabildiği gibi lokal anestezi ve intravenözs edasyon (Ddmar yolu ile uyutma) yöntemi de uygulanabilir.
Duration
The eyebrow lifting process usually takes between 1.5 and 2 hours.
After eyebrow lift
The early period after the procedure is usually comfortable. There may be swelling and bruising on the forehead and around the eyes. There may be a numbness and feeling of tension. These will pass spontaneously in 2 weeks. Head wraps may be applied, leaving eyes, nose and mouth open. The wrap is removed after 2 days for general control and dressing renewal. The hair is washed and the bandage is applied again if necessary. Sutures are taken after 5-7 days.
